Board of Directors
Robert "Bert" Talerman, current President of Coastal's Board of Directors, has served on Coastal's Board of Directors and Executive Committee for many years. He is the Executive Vice President and Executive Lending Officer of Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank. Prior to joining the Cape Cod Five in early 2007, he served in a number of senior capacities in banking and has over 20 years of experience in the industry. Bert has resided on Cape Cod since 1994 and also serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Kelley Foundation. Bert is a graduate of Amherst College and lives in Centerville with his wife and two daughters. With an extensive background in commercial lending, Talerman is closely connected to Coastal's mission.
Charlie Ritch has over 35 years of experience in commercial lending and senior bank management experience. After retiring from the banking world, Ritch founded Ritch Financial Solutions, a financial consulting firm which advises clients on current financial issues such as debt structure, cash flow management, and best practices in overall financial management for small to mid-size companies. In addition to his professional work, Ritch is the Vice Chair of the Rehabilitation Hospital of Cape Cod & the Islands, a director of Old Colony YMCA, serves on the board of directors for the United Way of Greater Plymouth County, and is the Director of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce as well as serving on both the Chamber's and Coastal's executive committee. Ritch resides in Sandwich with his family.
Michael Giancola, founder and president of Southeast Commercial Real Estate. After relocating from Burlington, Vermont in 1993, Giancola has served the community on Cape Cod not only through the creation of a company focusing solely on commercial real estate, but also through his service in organizations such as Coastal. In 1999, Giancola was awarded the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation by the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute and in 2001, he achieved the SIOR Industrial Specialist designation awarded by the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors. Giancola resides in Bourne with his family.
Chris Murphy, partner at DePaola, Begg & Associates, PC, has served on Coastal Community Capital's Loan Committee for several terms. Murphy is a native of Cape Cod and understands the necessity of small business growth and the fostering of entrepreneurship. Murphy is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Board Member on The Kelley Foundation, Inc. as well as on Cape Cod Charitable Funraisers. A graduate of Boston College, Murphy currently resides in Centerville with his wife.
John O'Brien is the treasurer for Coastal's Board of Directors, as well as the Economic Developement Coordinator for the Town of Barnstable.

David Chase, consultant for the Service Core Of Retired Executives, serves on Coastal's Loan Committee. David has been a consultant at SCORE for thirteen years and was the Chairman in 2003-2004. Prior to working at SCORE, David was in the computer industry for over 40 years, working in hardware, software, and the service sector, including employment with Hewlett Packard. He is the founding member of Keane, Inc., a computer services firm, and was Vice President and Board member for 15 years. David is a member of the Barnstable Newcomers and founding member of Church Pies of Cape Cod. He currently resides in Cotuit.
Christopher Richards, Commercial Loan Officer at Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank
Marlene Micciche, Portfolio Manager with Rockland Trust in Hyannis, has over 27 years experience in banking with over 20 years spent in the Commercial Lending arena. Previously, a commercial loan review examiner with Cobblestone Management , Marlene was also a commercial lender with Citizens Bank as well as Fleet National Bank. Marlene is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and has lived in East Harwich for over 20 years. In addition to serving on the Loan Committee of Coastal Community Capital, Marlene was a participant in the Community Leadership Institute of Cape Cod , was a member of the Founders Committee and Executive Committee of Pope John Paul II High School in Hyannis and serves as a Board Member and Past President of the Holy Cross Club of Cape Cod.
