Coastal Community Capital partners with local organizations like SCORE and the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce to offer year-round training workshops that help you run your businesses smarter, faster and more efficiently. These workshops – many of which are free to attend - provide the expertise, tools and networks you need to take your business to the next level. Sessions cover a range of topics, from branding, financing and succession planning to customer service, bookkeeping and social media marketing.

SCORE FALL 2019 BUSINESS WORKSHOP SERIES

Coastal Community Capital and Cape Cod & Islands SCORE are partnering with the local Chambers of Commerce on this FREE business workshop series, aimed at providing tips, techniques and skills for improving the way you do business!  Financial support provided by the Cape Cod 5 Foundation and Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation.

Tuesday, October 29, 8:30-11 am, Falmouth Chamber of Commerce, Falmouth
Web veteran Dale Shadbegian leads a discussion on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) or "how to get found in Google". The discussion will include strategy, best practices, and how to hire a professional if SEO is the right choice for your organization. Attendees will take home powerful tips they can implement immediately to help them get found.

GROW YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA

Effective use of social media is a must for businesses in today’s world. This workshop will cover a number of basic social media tools for small businesses. Topics include an overview of the most popular social media networks, general guidelines on what will be attractive content and how to post it, and how to use basic analytics to gauge effectiveness of your social media efforts.

BUILDING YOUR BUSINESS INTO A RELEVANT BRAND
Wednesday, November 13, 8:30 to 10 am, Chatham Community Center, Chatham
If you don’t have a clearly defined point of difference on which to build your brand then you’ll find it tough to succeed. This workshop will focus on how to identify and define the point of difference and then how to translate that into a brand statement. Participants will leave with the tools needed to create a differentiated brand positioning that will resonate with your target consumer.

No matter what size company you run, chances are that at some point you will face an Human Resource (HR) issue that exposes your business to risks of financial, reputational and other loss. This workshop will explore the top ten HR practices that are relatively simple to manage and go a long way to guarding against these risks. Participants will leave this workshop with a list of the basic steps they should be taking to avoid legal trouble on the HR front.

SPANISH BUSINESS EXPO

SCORE and Coastal Community Capital will be presenting the region’s first Spanish Business Expo at the Cape Cod & Islands Association of Realtors in West Yarmouth from 10 am to 3 pm on November 4, 2019. This business expo is being modeled after our highly successful, regional Brazilian Business Expo in March of 2019.

The Expo is intended to introduce the small business owner participants to business methodologies that will help them plan for business success.  The entire Expo will be presented in Spanish. The 5 hour event will be free to participants and feature a keynote speaker, followed by two breakout sessions featuring three business topics, complimentary lunch and a panel discussion by successful, Spanish speaking business owners.   All participants will leave with a workbook of materials presented in the breakouts.
